UAD is getting into show business
We're teaming up with our favourites to put on a show.
We at UAD are excited to announce that we have partnered with Lorna Rose Treen, who recognised that established artists lacked a platform to experiment beyond the confines of audience expectations. She asked us if we could team up and provide a space for well known and amazing acts to test out their freshest material and we couldn’t help but jump at the chance!
This is a night for the artist, a secret line up, a secret space and a secret night that only a select group knows about.
The secret line up, Lorna has been quietly compiling lists of hot, talented comedians that have already found success and want to try some new ideas.
The secret space, 5 minutes from both Woolwich DLR and Lizzie line exits, this space is conveniently located for the Thursday night audience, not regularly a comedy venue, this space gives us a unique opportunity to be very creative with dressing the space. Each ticket will come with directions so you know where to head to on the night.
The secret night, as we’ve said above, it’s a night for the artists, so contrary to popular beliefs we don’t want queues around the block. This is an exclusive event where the 'who’s who' will gather. We are aiming to host a small, encouraging, and supportive crowd, for the surprise line up.
We actually think this fills a need in the London scene at the moment.
Evening entertainment expenses can be high, particularly in today's economy, with ticket prices often reaching £20 or even £30 for some events. That's why we’ve made the Lorndrette a “pay what you want” night, our focus is on the acts getting the most from the night, we are not doing this to make money. This focus on getting the best crowd in for our comedians has led us to pledging all the profits of the night to be given to charity. We feel, for the special crowd you are, you should be able to have a fun time out and feel like you are doing good too.
With all this undertaking unfortunately something has to give so on a minor note, we will be shifting to a fortnightly email, so we can properly execute new shows and articles to the quality we can be proud of.
We can't wait to see where this goes and the new acts that come from this, it’s all very exciting, see you there!
